Why is Family History so important?
Family History is a way to connect to our past. When we discover who our ancestors are and where we come from we can better understand who we are. This can be a fun and exciting journey, but for Latter-Day Saints it is so much more than that. We believe that God, our Heavenly Father organized us in families which are meant to be eternal.

Family History Fair Class Descriptions
Geneaology 101- Just getting started? Don't know where to start? Come take the mystery out of Family History. There's lots to be done even before you get to a computer. Instructors will show you the process to start collecting and compiling your family history.
Indexing- Come learn something fun and actually good to do with your smartphone or computer! Can you think of anyone who is skilled at using the computer, is already online frequently, types quickly, and knows the way around today’s technologies? It sounds like you (and your friends) have just what it takes for indexing. Indexing lets you type names from old records into a database that people worldwide can use to find their ancestors. Indexing lets everyone help one another with family history--today, you may enter in the name of an ancestor of someone living in Australia, and tomorrow a person living in England may type in the name of an ancestor you're looking for!
Getting Organized- Can't remember where you put that one picture of Uncle Ralph's second cousin twice removed?!?! No fear! Come learn different systems of organizing your family history files, pictures and stories so you can see what you have and know how to direct your future research and yes,...find that picture of Uncle Ralph!
Temple Ready- This class will help you understand the process of gathering and recording information to performing temple ordinances. You will learn how to get your names temple ready as well as learning about resources that can help you in this process. *** Participants need to have an LDS Membership ID#***
Where do I Go Now?- Don't know where to look? Come learn about all the resources out there to find your family, beyond birth and marriage certificates. We guarantee you'll learn about places to look that you haven't even thought of!
Advanced Genealogy- I went through the 'Where do I go now' list and I'm still stuck!! Come learn about some of the trickier dead ends that people run into and learn some ways to avoid or work through them (ie foreign issues, requesting documents, multiple spouses/marriages etc.). ***This class may be overwhelming for beginners.***
Video Training- Come watch some of the available trainings on line and available to download. These can be gems for teachers, parents or individuals trying to learn more.
